A fun day for all as Care UK opens its latest home in East Grinstead

A free family fun day and visit from the town mayor will mark the official opening of a state-of-the-art new care home for East Grinstead. The home in Sunnyside Close, called Mill View, will be opened by Councillor Elizabeth Bennett during the family fun day on Saturday 8th September.

A Care UK home, Mill View will provide residential and nursing care for older people and, in a separate suite, Care UK’s award winning programme of care for people with dementia.

The home’s landscaped grounds will be open to all between noon and 4pm and there will be fun for all the family including face-painting, candyfloss, popcorn, entertainment from balloon sculptor and magician Mr Fumbie. There will also be the opportunity to view an exhibition from the East Grinstead Photographic Club and enjoy music from a jazz band.

Mill View is one of a new generation of Care UK homes and is designed around a welcoming village green style interior. The home’s many facilities include Doyle’s coffee shop, a cinema, a village store and a hair and beauty salon. The village has a lively but relaxed atmosphere and is a great place for residents to socialise with friends or spend quality time with their families.

Manager Rosemarie Gray said: “I hope the local community will come and meet us and see our wonderful new home.

“We are looking forward to becoming active in the East Grinstead community. Many of our residents will be local people and we will be helping them to stay part of the community, visiting their friends and relatives and keeping up their hobbies and interests.”

The Mill View family fun day will run from noon to 4pm on Saturday September 8 and entry is free.
