Southampton Treatment Centre team prepare for Race for Life

A team of 26 ladies from the Southampton NHS Treatment Centre are taking part in this year’s Race for Life.

The event on Southampton Common sees women from across the region complete the 5km course to raise much needed funds for Cancer Research UK.

Southampton Treatment Centre has supported their team by paying their entry fees for the event and Care UK will also potentially ‘match fund’ the sponsorship money they raise – meaning the total predicted sponsorship target for the group is over £2000!

Toni Riddell, one of the runners, said:  “It’s brilliant that so many of our staff are taking part in this great event for Cancer Research UK.  Every member of our team has a relative, friend or colleague whose life has been affected by Cancer, so we are committed to raising as much money as we can for this worthy charity and also having a fun day out as a team with hundreds of other women from across the city!”

Members of the race team (pictured) were on hand to launch the event at the Centre this week.
