We had a fantastic few days of fun to celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee.
On Thursday 31st May reminiscence entertainer Ray Keer performed a show based on the Royal family. He also involved everyone in a sing a long which was followed by tea and biscuits.
On Sunday 3rd June we had a nautical themed day with a film showing of South Pacific. After tea, we then watched the 'Flotilla' which featured the 1,000 boats going down the Thames in honour of the Queen’s jubilee.
We held a “street party” in our garden on Monday with a buffet, drinks and lots of entertainment. The local school children volunteered to come and sing some oldie but goody songs followed by entertainer Paul Betts who sings and has a range of musical instruments that he encourages the residents to use and join in.
Relatives and staff joined in the fun by performing sketches.
On Tuesday 5th June VAT & the Fiddler Pub opened again and we transformed the balconies into mini pubs and served beer, wine and soft drinks.
The front of Langley Oaks and the units were lit up like a royal parade.
