A chance to join an award winning team and care for local people

Surrey residents are being invited to take part in a recruitment day at Tiltwood care home in Cobham on Wednesday 23rd May.

Tiltwood are looking for carers, team leaders and an activity coordinator to help delivery Care UK’s award winning service to residents.

Activity Based Care Coordinator Deirdre Timney said: “Care UK, which was voted Residential Care Provider of the Year in 2011, has an ethos unlike any other company. We encourage residents to take an active role at Tiltwood. It is their home and it is only right they should have a say in what happens, as well as joining in the day–to-day life of their home.

“We provide genuinely person-centred care by getting to know our residents, their interests, likes, unique personalities and about their life before they joined us, so that we can provide the right level of care and the right type of activity to keep them active and independent.”

And Care UK strives to be as good an employer as its employees are carers.  The company prides itself on its NVQ and internal training programmes and there are excellent career development opportunities, with people moving from carer roles to home manager and even regional manager positions. This high standard is reflected in its staff turnover, which, at just 16 per cent, is the lowest in its sector.

The open day will run from 2-7pm and, for the carers’ roles, Deirdre says experience is not essential. She said: “Our staff are selected not only for their experience and qualifications but also for their caring approach.  If we can see someone is empathetic, caring and committed, we will train them and develop their skills.”

All potential employees will be CRB checked and anyone attending the day should bring along two pieces of ID (to include passport and driving licence) and up to 5 items confirming proof of address (which cannot be no more than 3 months old).

For more information, contact Deirdre on 01932 866498
