Cathkin House care home raises funds for dementia charity

Residents at Care UK’s Cathkin House are opening their home to the public to raise money for Dementia UK, as part of Time for a Cuppa day on Friday 2nd March between 2 - 4.30pm.

Time for a Cuppa is about bringing people together across the country to hold an event at home, in the workplace or in the community, to help raise much-needed funds to support the work of Dementia UK, a charity dedicated to improving life for people with dementia.

Catherine Brannan, who manages the home in Glasgow Road, Nerston, said: “Our kitchen team, staff and residents are always baking together. Rocky road, clootie dumplings and fairy cakes are firm favourites.

“They will be busy making cakes to sell on the day and I have to say their cooking is always very tasty!”

The cakes will be sold to eat at the event with a cuppa, or to take home and enjoy, and the residents are very much looking forward to welcoming the community into their home.
