Christmas and New Year for many families can be rather hectic. Key family members are often rushing around making preparations, buying gifts and making visits across the country or even abroad.
Sometimes it is easy to forget that not everyone is this pre-occupied by Christmas but in fact many elderly people can dread the festive season and what can be an unwelcome disruption to their much needed routine, often leaving them feeling isolated and on their own.
Silversprings Care Home, based in Thorrington, Essex is open to take in senior family members for respite stay over the Festive Season, offering first rate care and a peace of mind, knowing that all their needs are being attended to.
Manager Karen Stokeld explains: "We understand how stressful Christmas can be for people particularly when it leaves little time to look after our dependents. Staying at Silversprings at this busy time can provide reassurance to all parties."
Family members in respite care can still receive visitors throughout their stay and this is highly encouraged.
Karen continues: "Our temporary visitors enjoy the same level of care and attention as our permanent residents, and at this time of year we have plenty going on with special seasonal entertainment as well as our usual list of activities."
"People are welcome to visit their relatives here at Silversprings at any time throughout the year. At Christmas it really does lift everyone's spirits to see people gathered together – the more the merrier!"
