Party to celebrate 90-year-olds at Elizabeth Lodge

Residents, relatives and staff at Care UK’s Elizabeth Lodge Nursing Home in Winchmore Hill, North London joined together on Monday for a party for all of those residents in their nineties.

Thirty four of the home’s seventy-nine residents are in their nineties, the idea behind the afternoon was to celebrate the knowledge and wisdom that has been accumulated in their combined 3149 years! It was also a good excuse to have a strawberries and cream tea and enjoy musical entertainment provided by local entertainer Paul Jaffa.

Residents were presented with individualised hand-made certificates with details of important dates in their lives as a memento of the afternoon.

Home Manager Peter Slaney said ‘it’s a real privilege to share this celebration with so many great characters. One of the joys of working at Elizabeth Lodge is listening to the stories and experiences our residents have to share’.
