Spreading the word

Representatives from Southampton Treatment Centre recently attended a local BME Health Group organised by Age Concern, to talk to the attendees about their service and what benefits it could offer to the local general public.

Marc Rogers (Marketing and Communications Lead) and Heather Blackwell (Clinical Services Manager) took a number of questions from the group of 60+ people and one of the organisers translated the discussion into Hindi for the non English speaking members of the audience.  This event was a follow up from Dignity Action Day on 25th February, when the centre invited group leaders from the local BME community into the centre for a tour and opportunity to find out about what they did.  Future events are already in the pipeline to develop this partnership further and engage more people from the local community.
