Scrubbing up to take a peek at theatre

Last Sunday’s open day held at Care UK’s Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre   was a huge success. Over 175 people visited the Centre to have a look at the top-rated hospital’s facilities enjoy a behind the scenes  tour around the operating theatre, have mini health checks and speak to the consultants and staff.

Colin Royle, aged 65, travelled from Askern in Doncaster to have a look around the Centre. Having suffered for a number of years with his knee, he realises that a knee replacement is the answer to his problem.  Colin’s wife recently had knee replacement surgery at the Centre and he’s now hoping to also be treated at Barlborough.  He commented: “After witnessing how well my wife was treated and her excellent recovery, I felt a tour around the theatre and meeting a consultant at the Open Day would be a good opportunity to have my questions answered. I now know that Barlborough is the right choice for me.”

Graeme Kendall, Manager at Care UK’s Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre said: “Visitors were fascinated with the theatre tours and they proved so popular that we had to set up a booking system  so that everyone had the opportunity to see behind the scenes..  I'm sure all of my colleagues will join me in saying a huge thank you to everyone who came along.  The support we receive from former patients is truly wonderful.”

Run by an independent company with an impressive track record in patient care and clinical success, on behalf of the NHS for NHS patients only, the Centre provides day care and inpatient orthopaedic surgery for patients from Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. It prides itself on providing the best patient care at its unique facility in friendly and comfortable surroundings. The Centre prides itself on its extremely low infection rates and has never had a case of hospital acquired MRSA.
