Blooming great Tea Party

A lovely time was had by all on Sunday 4th July when Silversprings Residential Care Home held their Blooming Great Tea Party, an annual charity fund-raising event.

Silversprings is an independent care home dedicated to providing a kind and compassionate environment for residents aged fifty-five and over who are in need of supported living. The home is situated amongst 5 acres of beautiful landscaped grounds at Tenpenny Hill in Thorrington, and imparts the highest standards of residential, elderly, disabled and dementia care in graceful surroundings to enhance the lives of its residents. The home also caters for the needs of respite and convalescence residents along with end-of-life care.

Current residents and members of staff at Silversprings invited their friends and family along to enjoy a fun afternoon of refreshment, socialising and entertainment. Guests were treated to fantastic sunny weather alongside tea and delicious cakes, plus other tempting home-made goodies. The live musical entertainment provided by the Harwich Brass Band made sure that the whole event went with a swing!

Amongst those present were a number of notable members of the local community, including the new Mayor of Brightlingsea, Mike Holding, Councillor Jayne Chapman, plus the Deputy & Lady Deputy of the Cinque Port Liberty of Brightlingsea, Toni and Bernie Spurling.

The event was a great success, with one of Silverspring’s residents commenting:

I have never had a day like today, it’s been wonderful, and I will always remember it.

This year, Blooming Great Tea Party’s proceedings were all in aid of the Marie Curie Cancer Fund, and Silversprings Care Home is proud to announce that its residents and staff raised just over £500 to go towards this wonderful charity.
