David Burrowes, MP for Enfield Southgate joined staff and residents to celebrate our home’s 15th anniversary.
Mr. Burrowes, who has been a regular visitor to the home, was among a large party of management, staff, and former staff members who attended the celebrations.
About 50 people attended the anniversary celebrations, including Care UK’s Managing Director of Residential Care, Tony Hosking. Staff and their families attended, and welcomed back were a number of staff members who were on duty when the home first opened.
Mr Hosking recognised the wonderful team spirit and dedication of the staff by presenting vouchers to some of the longest serving members. NVQ certificates were also awarded to four of the team who had recently achieved their qualifications.
Everyone enjoyed a barbecue and a cake that had been baked specially for the occasion and for the children there was a bouncy castle and face painting.
Home manager, Violet Kuto, said the residents had thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the celebrations: “Our aim is always to ensure that we create an environment here which really does feel like home and where friends and family are always welcome. That was what this day was all about.
“It was a wonderful occasion much enjoyed by residents and staff alike. A lot of work went into the planning and I think we ensured our 15th birthday was well and truly celebrated.”
