Local carer Jill beats 28,000 colleagues to win national award

CM2000 is a leading provider of monitoring systems used to record the arrival and departure times of homecare workers. Of the 28,000 care workers that use the system nationally, Jill achieved a score of 100% compliance.  This means that her home visits matched exactly in punctuality and duration with the planned service – an unprecedented achievement.

Three other care workers in the Stoke and Cheshire area were also recognised for excellent performance.  Marie Walker, Joy Geagen and Anne Malpass all logged their visits so accurately that they were among CM2000’s top ten system users nationwide.

The electronic logging system is designed to ensure that care workers provide the best possible services to the people they care for in the local community.  It works by reassuring the employer, the organisation purchasing the care and the person receiving care that the carer arrives on time and stays for the length of time expected. Instead of an unverifiable timesheet system, the care worker logs their visit details by making an unanswered 0800 number telephone call using the service user’s home phone.  This clearly identifies the care worker from their unique 0800 number and the person receiving care from the telephone lines’ CLI. Because the call is unanswered no costs are incurred by the person being cared for.

Geoff Benn, Managing Director of Care UK’s Community Care Services said: “It’s a real achievement that our team in Stoke and Cheshire has outperformed its counterparts nationally.  In particular, we’re absolutely delighted to see Jill receive the recognition she deserves for providing such a punctual and consistently reliable service to those she cares for in the local area.”
