Care UK wins Health Investor Awards

The company won Best Merger & Acquisition Transaction for its purchase of Mercury Healthcare in May of this year.

Care UK was attracted by the successful business that Mercury had built and, according to Chief Executive Mike Parish: "the business was simply irresistible to us. It has an impressive track record in health care provision and dovetailed beautifully with our own business."

In making this award, the judges noted that Care UK provided added value to all those concerned with the deal, by operating in an innovative fashion, by co-ordinating the parties involved, by overcoming obstacles, by establishing and achieving the end goal of the deal, in a highly complex transaction.

At the same awards ceremony, Mike Parish won the Healthcare Entrepreneur of the Year award as recognition of his and his colleagues' innovative and effective approach to the growth of Care UK over recent years.

He was recognised for his ability to create and develop innovative opportunities, his sustained record in deal making, his solid industry reputation, his position as a visionary in the market sector and for his involvement in noteworthy deals in 2006-2007.

Mike Parish commented: "We are delighted to have received two such important awards from Health Investor. I am personally very pleased with the accolades, both of which stand testament to the hard work, vision, commitment and innovation of the whole Care UK team."
