I’ve worked for Care UK for over 15 years. My first experience of the organisation was when my grandfather was in a Care UK home. As a relative, I found visiting him in his home to be an amazing, positive experience. He was cared for by an incredible team. I was very impressed.
One of the best things about this role is seeing the difference a positive experience or conversation can make to a resident. Seeing smiles and hearing laughter every day around the home makes me so proud to work here and to work in a care setting.
I continue to learn new things every day, and I have lots of aims for the home, including developing our environment to make it even better, and to make residents’ wishes come true. Big or small, we make people’s dreams a reality. For example, when a resident wanted to be a bride for the day to relive her big day, we supported her to wear her wedding dress and I walked her up the aisle.
