Our team works in a luxury care home set within a peaceful residential area. We provide round-the-clock nursing, dementia and residential care, as well as short term respite care with fantastic facilities for residents, including an in-house cinema, café and hair salon.
We truly believe that every one of us makes a difference. If you're a passionate, caring individual who works well in a team, consider a rewarding career at Amherst House.
Join our team and you'll have the chance to get creative in the kitchen while cooking up nutritious, well-balanced meals that have a direct impact on residents’ health and wellbeing.
Many catering colleagues join us from restaurants or hotels where they’re used to working long hours late into the night. In a care home, you’ll work more sociable hours, and you’ll also have the opportunity to build relationships by getting to know residents and their tastes and preferences. This is a role where you can really make a difference.

I am a registered general nurse with experience in acute cardiac care and learning disabilities. I joined the home in October 2016. I am a diabetes and falls prevention champion. I have proven clinical skills and an advanced knowledge which led to me being promoted. I pride myself on being resident focused and ensuring that all individuals we support are empowered to make choices and participate fully in the running of their home. I enjoy spending time bonding with residents and their families, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and happiness are met. I was very proud to be awarded the Champion of Quality Care award in 2019.
