Meet our friendly care team

It is the people who make our home a truly happy and caring one, and at Sway Place our experienced team of dedicated professionals all undergo our own in-depth training programme. The whole team works to make sure that residents' needs are at the heart of everything they do and that personalised care is provided.

Francis Bosompim

General Manager

I love to see residents flourish and I’m so proud to see our fantastic team play an essential part in making that happen.

As general manager at Sway Place, it is hugely important to me that every person we care for is happy and feels safe. We work hard to ensure residents feel understood. For us, it is about supporting residents and enabling them to continue enjoying relationships with their loved ones.

One of my favourite parts of the day is the time I spend with residents and their relatives. It is a privilege to get to know them and hear their life stories.

I joined Care UK because it supports its teams. It is an organisation with clear values and there are systems in place that allow each of us to do our best, so residents receive consistent quality care.

I have a BSc in Dementia Studies and an MSc in Gerontology and Ageing. I also have a level five qualification in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care. It is an area of study that I am keenly interested in, and I also spend time researching dementia studies at the Doctoral College at the University of Surrey.

Lorren Nolan
Lorren Nolan
Deputy Manager

From the moment I first came for an interview at Sway Place, I had a good feeling about the home. I loved the teamwork I could see, and the progression opportunities looked great. I joined the team in 2019, but I’ve worked in the care industry for 14 years.

The best part of each day is seeing the residents – they're what I’m here for! Being made Deputy Manager was the highlight of my career so far. In this role, you need to be patient, respect others, have good computer skills and be level-headed. Ensuring that Sway Place is a home away from home for residents with plenty of activities for all is my main priority.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, gaming or reading.

Customer Relations Manager

I started my journey here when the home first opened in 2008. As a previous Team Leader I have supported residents through their personal journeys to live their lives to the fullest and I am dedicated to making a positive difference to the residents we care for. I have welcomed many residents and their families into our beautiful home. Now as Home Admissions Advisor I am dedicated to making a positive difference at what can be an emotional time for residents and their loved ones. Every effort goes into enhancing and enriching the lives of  residents here and ensuring that they find the right care solution that is bespoke to them. It is a privilege to be part of the amazing team here and seeing the residents flourish and fulfilled. I look forward to welcoming you to our home.

Lifestyle Lead

Sway Place is a beautiful home and when I saw the lifestyle lead position advertised, I wanted to be part of its passionate team. I was also inspired by Care UK’s values. It’s an organisation that really believes in making a difference, enabling residents to continue enjoying active and meaningful lifestyles.

Previously, I worked as a fundraising coordinator and therapist for a small charity for children with special needs. My experience there has given me valuable skills when it comes to focusing the care we provide around people’s choices. I also have a Master’s in Autism and an Advanced Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

In my role as Lifestyle Lead, you need to be organised as well as caring, creative and fun. You also need to be personable and be a welcoming face for residents, their families, visitors and colleagues. I think it is also important to be adaptable.

Spending time with residents is my favourite part of the day. I love seeing residents feel fulfilled through meaningful activities which we’ve tailored to their interests and in some cases, their life histories.

I enjoy the challenge of finding out exactly what activities residents would like to see and participate in. Finding out likes and dislikes means we can put even more ideas into practice and offer trips as well.

Being able to work with people is a career highlight for me, as is being a trustee for a children’s charity. I am also really proud of how all the teams work together at Sway Place, it’s great to be part of this community.

Outside of work I love going for walks in the forest or along the beach. I also love to sew and enjoy upholstery and creating new clothes.

Head Chef

Working at Sway Place is my first role in a care home, but my background in private aviation preparing high quality balanced meals means I have excellent knowledge and skills for this role. Having also collaborated with Champney's Health Spa, I know how important the nutrition in our diets is.

One of the best parts of the role is having the interaction with the lovely residents, being able to find out exactly what they like, so I can design and create dishes that they will enjoy. It has a real family feel here at Sway Place and I love being part of a fantastic, dedicated team at Care UK.

Head of Administration

I have been at the home since 2007. As Head of Administration, I oversee the entire administrative function within the home including leadership of the reception team, HR and payroll, and billing. My team and I are committed to delivering the highest standard of customer service at all times.

Debra Corrigan

Receptionist

I joined Sway Place to be part of a great team of people. Before this, I was working in an activity centre for disabled children.

In my role, it’s important to be friendly and a good communicator. You need to have social skills to build relationships with residents and their families. It’s also important to be organised, empathetic and able to multitask and problem solve.

I love that every day here is different, and I’m proud to be the first person to greet friends and family into the home and give them the friendly and professional Sway Place welcome. I enjoy working with our team of compassionate, caring people.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy walking, mountain biking and gardening.

Samantha Collins

Head Housekeeper

I have worked within the care environment for 14 years and chose to move to Sway Place because of the lovely location and good feedback from the team at the home. I was very happy to be promoted from ‘Housekeeper’ to ‘Head Housekeeper’ in 2021.

In my role you have to have a good eye for detail and a high standard of cleaning. Dedication to providing the best housekeeping service for all the residents is key.

I really enjoy spending time with all the lovely residents and getting to know their individual personalities.
