They are all about the individual, the care is very resident-centric. They are looking out for my loved one's welfare all the time, for example, they ordered a special mattress for him when he developed a bed sore without any delay, we didn't need to prompt them, it was just done. He sometimes refuses to shave and they never try to force him, they respect his choices and encourage him in a very respectful way. Generally he enjoys the food because there is plenty of variety, but if he wants something that is not on the menu, they do all that they can. The residents come first!
Relative of a residentMost of the day my loved one is in the entertainments room. The entertainment staff have a strong rapport with him, they call him Captain and he loves the banter. They talk to him so kindly and he is part of their family. They have singers coming a lot, they play dominoes, on a Sunday they sing a hymn or songs, they do puzzles, baking, flower arranging, they have air hockey, they make greetings cards... very hands on stuff. They spend a lot of time in the garden as well, which is nice. I have no worries. Really, I can't fault them at all. Relative of a resident
