Meet our friendly care team

It is the people who make our home a truly happy and caring one, and at Newbury Grove our experienced team of dedicated professionals all undergo our own in-depth training programme. The whole team works to make sure that residents' needs are at the heart of everything they do and that personalised care is provided.

Adarsh Kurian

General Manager

Adarsh Kurian

I am a Registered Nurse with over fifteen years’ experience.

I lead the entire home team at Newbury Grove, taking responsibility for the smooth running of the home and its facilities to ensure we meet all of the standards required of us.

I appreciate how important it is to residents and their loved ones that they receive regular information and updates about their care, and what’s happening in the home. I’m passionate about keeping everyone updated, including our team, and about celebrating our successes.

One of my favourite parts of the day is spending time with residents and catching up with their families. We’re one big family here at Newbury Grove. I look forward to welcoming you to the home very soon.

Coral Elvin
Coral Elvin
Customer Relations Manager

I’m often the first point of contact for families who are looking for care for an older loved one, and I’ll arrange for prospective residents and their loved ones to look around Newbury Grove. I’ll also ensure they have all the information they need about our home and that their questions are answered fully and quickly.

I arrange initial contracts and ensure a new resident has a smooth transition into the home. I’ll often spend time with new residents to help them settle in, and to introduce them to likeminded residents in the home so they can start to make friends.

We’re a dedicated and passionate team here at Newbury Grove and we want every resident’s experience here to be the best it can be. If you have any questions about any aspect of care, I’m here to help. I look forward to meeting you at Newbury Grove.

Activities Lead

I am a qualified Gerontologist with over 24 years’ experience in planning and organising meaningful activities in the care home sector. It’s my job to support and encourage residents to keep active and independent with personalised activity plans based on their interests, abilities and life stories.

I love supporting residents to enjoy safe and fulfilling experiences. My team and I build friendships with the residents and help them adjust to a new life at Newbury Grove. I encourage them as much as possible to join the activities so they make new friends and start to settle in. While we do a range of group activities, I truly enjoy one-to-one sessions with the residents.

Relatives are also encouraged to play an active part in our activities and events. We’ve also worked hard to build links with the local community and are proud of the bonds we now have with local churches, nurseries, volunteers and schools.

Clinical Nurse Manger

I have over twenty years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, and here at Newbury Grove, I’m responsible for the clinical care of all residents. I achieved an MSc in Nursing Advanced Leadership at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin in 2017.

I’m guided in everything I do by my care ethos, which is to treat everyone with respect and dignity, and to see the value in everybody. I’m passionate that all Newbury Grove residents are comfortable and feel safe with us, and I believe that it’s a privilege to care for the people in our home.

Vimal Hariharan
Vimal Hariharan
Clinical Nurse Manager

I’ve been working as a Registered Nurse in the UK for nearly a decade, and I’ve worked in a range of settings, from older people’s care to dementia-based settings. I also worked for a couple of years as a carer in the UK before I became a nurse.

I did my nurse training in India before I moved to the UK to do higher studies. In India I worked in oncology and in accident and emergency departments.

Here at Newbury Grange, I’m responsible for the clinical care needs of the residents, and I love all aspects of my role, from the clinical side of things, to supporting the team, and developing strong relationships with the residents and learning about their lives.

I think being approachable is vital in this role, and I’m always here to answer residents’ and relatives’ queries about any aspect of nursing care.

Adriano Carvalho
Adriano Carvalho
Head Chef

I joined Care UK in May 2023 after working as Head Chef in another care home. It’s my job to deliver a high-quality food and dining experience for residents living at Newbury Grove and their visitors, using fresh, seasonal and local produce.

As Head Chef, I believe it’s important to be caring, friendly and a good listener. My favourite part of my role is baking – I love baking, especially cakes. A nice cake brings people together and makes them smile.

When residents tell me that a meal we’ve prepared and served for them reminds them of a happy time or an experience in their life, I feel proud of what I do.

A highlight of my career was being elected as a Southwest Secretary for the National Association of Care Catering.

Charlotte Dry
Charlotte Dry
Business Administrator

I’m an experienced care sector Business Administrator, with ten years’ experience under my belt. My role includes responsibility for handling all billing as well as residents’ monies. There’s always a lot to do, but I gain a huge amount of satisfaction from ensuring that everything is done well and quickly.

I also manage our reception team and the administration office. I enjoy supporting my team and ensuring that everyone who visits Newbury Grove receives a warm welcome and all their questions are answered quickly and fully.

We look forward to welcoming you to our wonderful home very soon.

Anna Lip
Anna Lip
Head Housekeeper

I joined Newbury Grove as a senior carer in late 2019. I’d previously worked in the care and hospitality sectors. In 2021 I moved into my current role, taking responsibility for a great team.

My previous experience as a Senior Carer has been hugely useful in this role. I know just how important it is for me and my team to understand and value the needs and concerns of our residents and their loved ones. We’re responsible for ensuring they have a safe and clean environment to live in.

By far the best part of my job is the opportunity to chat to residents when I’m cleaning their rooms or returning their laundry. We always try to make time for a quick natter and a catch up and I think that makes a real difference to them – we certainly enjoy it.

In my time off I have two young boys who keep me on my toes. I’ve also taken up a new hobby – ‘trampoline jumping’ – which is exhilarating and keeps me fit!

Receptionist

I have been here since September 2016 and I thoroughly enjoy working here. I love chatting to and interacting with both the residents as well as their relatives. In my spare time, I like to stay active with gym and tennis and I am also learning to play the guitar. This is a special place to work and I feel privileged to be a part of such a great team.

Receptionist

I've been working here since 2016, and even though only working part time, I really enjoy working here and I find it very rewarding. In my spare time I love walking my two dogs, and I do enjoy a bit of DIY - doing up the house and gardening with my husband. I have two grown up children, one who got married summer of 2019 and it was such a joy to be part of.
