Naden Vencatasamy

Home Manager

Naden Vencatasamy

I was delighted to join Muriel Street as Care UK have a good reputation across the UK, providing me with opportunities to expand my career.

As Home Manager you need to be able to show good leadership, communication skills and motivation. Working within a care home also requires adaptability and flexibility to adjust to changing needs and requirements.

My favorite part of each day is being able to interact with residents and relatives, getting to know each individual. Being able to get to know everyone allows us to focus on residents needs and provide personalised care.

I look forward to continuing to deliver the best care possible, and supporting my colleagues, to provide a fulfilling lifestyle for residents in the home.

Gazelle Field
Gazelle Field
Deputy Manager

I’ve worked for Care UK for a long time, but I find every day still brings fresh challenges and new things to learn. There’s always plenty to do in my role, and it’s important to be a good leader, to be approachable, to be committed to the highest standards, to be flexible and to have a sense of humour!

I always look forward to the afternoons at Muriel Street. I’ve generally completed the tasks on my list and met various deadlines, and I liked to go out on the floor to see the residents and ensure the team are all okay.

Quality care is my passion, and that’s what keeps me motivated every day. I love being able to make a difference to older people’s lives and to ensure they’re 100% satisfied. I’m always striving to gain superb feedback from residents and relatives about the home and the care we provide.

In my free time I enjoy visiting the museums and galleries around the capital, and eating out in new places.

Lifestyle Lead

I joined the Muriel Street team in 2022. I’d been an Executive Assistant but had a complete career change after the pandemic. I wanted to help improve older people’s lives, and what better place to do that than here?

I always aim to bring a positive attitude to everything I do, and it’s important to be an effective communicator. It’s vital to be adaptable and to have a caring nature in this role as well. Working here has opened my eyes to so many new things, and I find my role truly rewarding as I’ve developed some wonderful relationships with the residents, their families, and my colleagues, and I love being able to improve the daily lives of the residents.

The Muriel Street team is very diverse. We’re from very different backgrounds, but we all get on very well, and we’re all committed to residents’ wellbeing – we have an important shared goal.

In my spare time, I’m a professional DJ and a holistic therapist. These interests keep me pretty busy.

Marta Buragohain
Marta Buragohain
Business Administrator

I used to work in administration at Public Health England. When I was looking for a new role, I thought I’d like to stay in the health and social care sector. At the time I wasn’t familiar with Care UK, but when I read more about the organisation I was convinced it would be a good company to work for. I joined the team in 2018.

I take pride in being calm, well organised, detail focused and polite at all times. I like the feeling of achieving all my tasks and resolving challenges for residents, colleagues and relatives. The best day is when everything runs smoothly!

We’re a strong team here at Muriel Street and I think we have the best management team! Having clear, kind and strong support and direction makes all the difference.

In my free time you can find me swimming, playing tennis with my kids, watching movies or travelling around the country exploring new places.

Clinical Lead

I’m an Registerd Nurse, I qualified in the Philippines in 2007 and became registered in the UK in 2016. I wanted to join Care UK because it has a great reputation for delivering high quality care – they believe in strong systems and regular auditing and they have a very clear care ethos, which puts residents at the heart of their care. This is so important.

I look forward to the mornings here at Muriel Street when I plan the day with the team. Towards the end of the day it’s time to reflect on how things could have been done better, or what we’ve done well.

I always enjoy meeting new residents and their families, learning about their lives and how we can support them with personalised care. Another great part of my role is being able to support colleagues to learn, stretch themselves and progress up the ladder. I’m always learning so much from everyone.

Outside of work I enjoy socialising and eating out with my friends, and enjoying everything London has to offer, from theatres and art galleries to walking in the parks.

Head Chef

I worked as a second chef in a restaurant before joining Care UK in 2017. I am so proud to have worked my way up to the head chef by transferring my 5 star restaurant experience into the care home. My biggest challenge was learning how to modify diets and creating a diverse menu. But I love when I see the people we provide care are happy and enjoying their food.

I work with such a great team who share a passion for cooking and who bring their patience and understanding to the kitchen. My favourite mealtime is breakfast, when the atmosphere is completely relaxed.

Training Lead

I used to work as a Sales Assistant, however, seeing my grandmother receive care made me want to make a difference in other people’s lives. I achieved my NVQ level 3/5 in Health and Social care and BA in Healthcare Management. I have now been at Muriel Street since 2012 where everyone is still so supportive.

My biggest highlight was working my way up from Team Leader to Unit Manager Care/ Training Lead. My role requires being a good listener, showing kindness to everyone and being a fantastic team player. Each day I love spending time with the residents. I enjoy one-on-one time and listening to their life stories.

Maintenance

I was a school site manager/caretaker for 16 years, but a change of direction in my career, and a relocation, led me to move my skills to the care sector in 2019.

I love the challenge of ensuring that the home is the best it can be at all times. I also enjoy the variety and hands on nature of my role – making things good again and having to turn my hand to anything. It’s helpful to be able to work well under pressure, to think logically and to be friendly, and a good listener.

Being able to spend time chatting to the residents is one of the highlights of my job, and helping them in any way I can. When I’m not at work I enjoy travelling, DIY (obviously!), walking and music – I like remixing music when I can find the time.
