Nobathakathi Motelle

Home Manager

Nobathakathi Motelle

I joined the team at Kenilworth Grange in October 2011.

I’m a Registered Nurse, and I’ve continued my nursing education to achieve a master’s degree in nursing, as well as midwife and social and health care qualifications.

To do this role well, you need to be analytical and a team player. It’s important to be an effective communicator and a role model who can lead the team. You also need up-to-date clinical skills and the ability to manage the home.

I have a good rapport with my colleagues and enjoy managing the home as a unit. My favourite part of the day is ensuring the team's skill mix is just right. Contributing to health and safety training has been a highlight of my career, and I take great pride in empowering colleagues through clinical competencies.

Emmanuel Sarfo Baffoe
Emmanuel Sarfo Baffoe
Lifestyle Lead

I joined Care UK because I wanted to be part of an organisation that delivers high-quality, person-centred care. Before stepping into my current role, I worked as a keep fit trainer and previously worked within the NHS in supply chain administration.

I have completed all Care UK in house training, along with my background training as a qualified keep fit trainer, which has been a great foundation for creating meaningful, active and engaging experiences for residents.

To do this role well I believe you need strong communication skills, empathy, compassion and a positive attitude. Teamwork and patience are also essential, along with creativity and good organisational skills.

My favourite part of the day is simple - I love being able to make people happy and help them have fun.

I feel most proud when I see residents smiling and enjoying themselves, especially when I know I have helped make that moment happen. The most important part of my role is helping residents live a life that feels meaningful, personal and full of opportunities to stay engaged.

Outside of work I love football.

Nicolae Zolotoi
Nicolae Zolotoi
Head Chef

I joined Care UK after a friend recommended it as a great place to work, and I am very glad I followed their advice. I hold an NVQ Level 3 in food production and have worked as a chef for several years across previous roles.

To do my role well you need to be responsible, caring and proactive. Being friendly and compassionate is just as important. One of my favourite parts of the day is interacting with residents and colleagues and helping to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I especially love when I can fulfil a food related wish for a resident.

A big career highlight for me has been winning Care UK’s cake competition for two years in a row at the Garden Summer Fete. I am proud in my role when the kitchen receives compliments and when people appreciate the meals we create and the strong team we have built here.

The most important part of my role is making sure every resident receives nutritious dishes that they enjoy and that we always adapt to their personal tastes and wishes.

Outside of work I love cats and dogs, looking after my plants, travelling and being with friends.

Angela Andriesanu
Angela Andriesanu
Clinical Manager

I am a registered adult nurse and hold a Level 5 qualification in health. Before starting my role at Kenilworth, I worked as a Compliance Officer. I chose to work at Care UK because my values matched that of the organisation, and for the strong opportunities for development.

In my role, I believe it is important to lead with a person-centred approach. Strong communication, time management, risk management and problem solving all play a part in delivering safe, consistent and compassionate care. The part of my role I enjoy most is supporting residents with high-quality person-centred care. Knowing I have helped someone feel comfortable, respected and understood gives me a real sense of purpose.

A highlight of my career has been leading improvements that have directly enhanced the quality of care. I have helped implement updated care plans, strengthened clinical practice and supported colleagues, which has been incredibly rewarding.

I am proud of my work because I know the care I provide makes a genuine difference to someone’s comfort, dignity and quality of life. The most important part of my role is ensuring residents always receive safe, skilled and person-centred support.

Outside of work I enjoy keeping active, travelling and baking.

Dementia Coach and In House Trainer

In my role as a dementia coach and trainer at Kenilworth Grange care home, I rely on strong personal and professional skills such as communication, compassion, problem solving, teamwork and leadership. My favourite part of the day is the morning, when I can meet and greet colleagues and residents. It is always a pleasure to start the day in this way.

I am a registered nurse and originally trained at the Medical College in Bulgaria. I later completed my return to practice qualification. My background includes working as a registered nurse in A&E and working within the NHS at Warwick Hospital. I also hold a Level 3 Award in Education and Training. I have worked at Kenilworth Grange for 23 years, and with Care UK since the organisation took ownership of the home. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far and have always felt supported throughout my career.

My proudest career moment was receiving the Care UK National Star Award for Dementia Coach of the Year in 2023. I am proud to make a positive difference for people living with dementia and their families, advocating for quality care and best practice. The most important part of my role is motivating and educating new colleagues and supporting existing team members with their personal and professional development.

Outside of work I am a table tennis player and proudly represent Team GB as a transplant patient at the Transplant Games. I also support Transplant Sport UK and take part in patient and public groups for the Birmingham Biomedical Research Centre.

Jamie Goodman
Business Administrator

I’ve worked at Kenilworth Grange since leaving school and have always been proud to be part of such a caring and passionate team. Over the years, I’ve progressed from kitchen assistant to domestic, then carer, senior carer, unit manager, and now business administrator.

In my role, strong organisational, communication, and time management skills are essential, along with a proactive attitude and the ability to solve problems and make decisions effectively. I’m also proud to be the iLearn Champion for our home.

What I enjoy most about my day is that every day is different. Effective communication is at the heart of everything I do, helping to ensure the smooth running of the home.

Outside of work, I enjoy walking my dog and taking holidays both in the UK and abroad.

Kaley Matthews
Kaley Matthews
Receptionist / Administrator Assistant

I work as a receptionist and admin assistant at Kenilworth Grange care home. I have completed an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration and am currently completing my Level 3 apprenticeship with Care UK. Before this role, I worked as a Human Resources Assistant, took a career break for maternity leave, and then joined Kenilworth Grange as a domestic, later progressing to my current role.

I joined Care UK because I enjoy meeting and speaking to people and find it rewarding to help others. In my role, good communication skills, organisation, and the ability to multitask are really important.

My favourite part of the working day is arriving at work and catching up with the residents and their families. I take pride in making sure every visitor receives a warm welcome and has their questions answered, helping them find their way around the home.

One of my career highlights so far has been receiving a nomination for a Care UK Stars Award, which meant a lot to me.

Outside of work, I enjoy baking and gardening—two great ways to relax and unwind.

Michelle Cox
Michelle Cox
Head Housekeeper

I joined Kenilworth Grange in 2008 after working as a Housekeeper in a hotel. In this role, it’s important to communicate with team members, residents and their families and friends. You must be organised to lead the team, good at problem solving and adaptable.

Most days at Kenilworth Grange are completely different, but I enjoy the mornings after all the team has arrived and been assigned their floors for the day. I also enjoy deep cleaning rooms and preparing them for new residents.

My proudest moments were the two times I was awarded a ‘GEM’ award for going the extra mile.

I love interacting with the residents and their families. I’m fond of my colleagues too, we have a good domestic team that work well together and are very supportive.

Outside of work, I like reading and solving puzzles like crosswords and sudoku. I also enjoy cooking and listening to Motown music. Once a month, I also catch up with old friends for a meal.

Maintenance

I joined Care UK because the organisation’s strong values and commitment to high quality care really resonated with me. Before becoming part of the Kenilworth Grange team, I worked as a team leader in a DIY chain, and I have since completed a robust induction and all relevant in house training to support me in my maintenance role.

To do this job well you need to be able to work independently, stay organised and be strong minded when problem solving. Above all, you must be caring, because everything we do in maintenance ultimately supports the comfort, safety and wellbeing of the people who live here. My favourite part of the day is spending time with residents, enjoying our positive interactions.

One of my proudest achievements in my career so far is winning the Care UK GEM award three times. It means a lot to be recognised. The most important part of my job is maintaining a safe, functional environment so residents and colleagues can feel secure and at home.

Outside of work I enjoy holidays on the UK coast and walking my dog.
