Meet our friendly care team

It is the people who make our home a truly happy and caring one, and at Greenview Hall our experienced team of dedicated professionals all undergo our own in-depth training programme. The whole team works to make sure that residents' needs are at the heart of everything they do and that personalised care is provided.

Meera Govindapillai

General Manager

Meera Govindapillai

As the General Manager here I am proud to lead a team of dedicated colleagues, recruited specifically for their passion, dedication, and experience, that support each other in delivering the very best care for older people.

I have 20 years' experience in this sector, and I am always extremely excited to lead and support my team.

Owen Mbulo
Owen Mbulo
Deputy Manager

I’m a trained nurse with a postgraduate degree from the University of Manchester. Before joining Greenview Hall, I was a Clinical Nurse specialist in oncology at Royal Berkshire Hospital. I joined Care UK because of its good reputation, history and career progression opportunities.

In my role, I look after the home from a clinical and compliance standpoint, manage the roster and colleagues and undertake audits. I believe it’s important to be caring for residents, passionate about my role and to work as a team with my colleagues.

My favourite part of the day is during resident or team meetings when we discuss the ways I can help make the service work better. Receiving positive feedback from residents, relatives and colleagues makes me proud in my role.

I enjoy spending time with my family and playing football outside of work.

Customer Relations Manager

I have been here since 2016 and I am so blessed that I have a job that I truly love doing. I get to meet new people daily and help support residents and their families through an emotional journey.

Mary Lawrie

Lifestyle Lead

Before joining Greenview Hall, I worked in domiciliary care, but I decided I would prefer to work in a more supportive environment.

As a Lifestyle Lead, it’s important to have a willingness to listen to and speak with everyone. You need to have a great personality, know the residents well and have a person-centred approach to your activities.

Getting involved with the residents and seeing them smile and enjoy themselves is my favourite part of the day.

Making residents happy is the most important part of my role, and I’m proud whenever I hear positive feedback from residents and their relatives.

Outside of work, I relax by socialising with friends and family.

Ajaya Gautam

Head Chef

I started working at Greenview Hall in 2018. Happiness is the key for me, and I am happy to be the part of the family and the team at the home. I like new challenges every day, not just usual day-to-day cooking but also cooking for specialists diets and requests. My team and I are dedicated to provide healthy and nutritious meals for the residents so they can stay strong, happy and healthy.

Clinical and Dementia Lead

I am so proud of my role here at Greenview Hall. As a trained dementia care coach, it is a privilege to support older people living with dementia, knowing we can make a difference in light of the challenges that this brings.

It is a role that needs you to be compassionate and caring but you also need to be able to prioritise need and be comfortable taking the lead in that. Being able to work efficiently but without giving into pressure are essential skills too.

I joined Care UK because its values and culture makes every day fulfilling and enjoyable and leading the dementia and clinical team has been a real highlight.

For me, my favourite part of the day is the time we are able to spend talking with residents and their families. Building those relationships is key to trust and really understanding what their individual needs are. Being able to make a positive impact to people’s lives is incredibly satisfying.

When I’m not working at Greenview Hall, I enjoy cooking, watching sport, gardening and walking.

Kim Wyllie

Receptionist

Before coming to Greenview Hall, I was a service manager at Bupa, overseeing a medium-sized team. I also have 21 years’ experience in customer relations and sales, so I’ve built up plenty of experience. I’d say, in that time, the highlight was winning the highest achiever award five years in a row.

In this role you need to have great listening skills, as well as be caring and empathetic. Being passionate and dedicated is important too, as is being a strong team player.

I feel so proud when I show prospective residents and their families around our lovely home. I also really enjoy the time I spend with residents; it is so much fun when I get a chance to join in with all the activities too. It really is an amazing feeling being able to help people and make such a positive difference to their day.

Outside of work, I spend my time with family, my grandchildren and my friends.

Melanie Chapman
Melanie Chapman
Home Administrator

I joined Greenview Hall because I have experience working in the care sector and was keen to get back into it. It’s a big difference from working in the TV and film industry, which I did previously, but this is very rewarding.

In this role, you need to be able to talk to people of all ages at both a professional and personal level. You also need to have empathy and be able to prioritise your workload. Everything we do here is important and can make a difference to the smooth running of the home and lives of residents.

It is wonderful to see residents have fun, and really laughing and smiling – it means we’re all doing a good job.

I spend my free time with family and friends, and I also enjoy music and dancing.

Hospitality Manager

There is a real family feel here at Greenview Hall, and it is fantastic being part of such a dedicated team.

I have two level three NVQ level qualifications. One in food and beverage production and the other in hospitality management. In my current role, you need good communication skills and be able to lead a team. Business skills, along with discipline and dedication go a long way too.

It is also essential to have knowledge of food safety and a good understanding of ingredients and flavours, and to be confident about being creative with food.

For me, the best part of the job is finding out exactly what residents like to eat so I can create menus with them and for them. It is important to be able to provide a menu that is enjoyable but that also caters to specific dietary needs.

I’ve been lucky and have had a lot of career highlights. So far, I have won a team leader of the year award. I have also been a finalist in both the Care UK chef awards and the Surrey Care Awards for best dining team.

I like to spend my time outside of work in nature and I have a big interest in wildlife. I also love watching football.

Alan Holloway

Maintenance Co-ordinator

Before joining Greenview Hall, I was a production manager in furniture manufacturing, so I am used to prioritising tasks, which is also essential in my current role. There are lots of other similarities too, as you also need to have strong attention to detail and be reliable.

I have been trained in fire safety which is really important as it is my job to ensure the home is safe for both residents and colleagues. It feels good when we complete all our tasks because having a comfortable home makes such a positive difference to people’s lives.

It’s difficult to pinpoint a favourite part of the day as they are always so varied. But I would say, it’s a treat when you see residents happy and laughing.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking and mountain biking. I have also been a volunteer at Surrey Search and Rescue for the last seven years, which is something I find hugely rewarding.
