I am passionate about caring for others, especially helping those living with dementia or needing end of life care. I enjoy working with the supportive team at Elizabeth Lodge, who offer excellent care to residents and colleagues alike.

I love a challenge, so I was delighted to take on the role of IPC Champion. I like to lead by example by being a good role model, rising to meet the difficulties we may face and encouraging everyone to play their part. I have learnt so much over the years and it brings me great satisfaction knowing I contribute to keeping residents safe.

My daily responsibilities as the IPC Champion involve handing out PPE, carrying out weekly infection control checks, managing cleaning schedules and, most importantly, being up to date on recommended Covid-19 guidance and safety procedures. 

I joined the Care UK team at Elizabeth Lodge in 2016. I was keen to work in an organisation with a great reputation for care, and Care UK is just such a place.

Compassion and hard work are important in this role. Theres a lot to do, and there are many different aspects of my role that I enjoy. I actually find the medication administration part of what I do rewarding. Its crucial that residents receive the medication they need on time and in the right way, and its important to me to know that its been done well.

I like to unwind by watching football – particular matches that involve my favourite team, Manchester United.

I have always liked to clean and I love to help people so working at Elizabeth Lodge was the ideal choice for me, and now I wouldnt want to work anywhere else! I have worked for Care UK since 1999, and I have been at Elizabeth Lodge ever since. I enjoy my whole day, doing the best I can to make others happy. Even though it can be challenging at times, its always a highlight when people come and thank me for my work, and an even bigger highlight to have been awarded three ‘Outstanding awards since being here. When Im not working I enjoy yoga and taking a walk every evening.

I joined Elizabeth Lodge in 2010. I came to see the home one day, and I loved it so much that I never left. Over the years I’ve decided that reception is where I like to be – greeting visitors. I think it’s important that everyone who visits Elizabeth Lodge gets the VIP treatment, and when you’re a glamour puss, like me, ‘out front’ is where you need to be. 

I’m not just a pretty face, of course. I worked out quickly that reception is the best place for getting the most treats and strokes. In fact, I’ve trained Jennifer, the business administrator, to feed me treats when I tap on her window. She took a while to get the hang of it, but I’ve got her into good habits now. 

On sunny days you can find me basking in the garden or on a warm window sill. Being this beautiful can be tiring, so it’s important to fit in a power nap when I can.
