Tina Lilly Dahms

Home Manager

Tina Lilly Dahms

I have 10 years of experience in management positions in the care industry, and before Chandler Court I worked as Home Manager in a 56-bed service.

Care UK has an excellent reputation nationwide. Their values of caring, passionate and teamwork are particularly important to me.

As a Home Manager, I believe it’s important to be positive, approachable, knowledgeable and passionate about exceptional care. I lead by positive example and do my best to ensure residents in our care are safe and happy every day.

I love the unpredictability of this role – no two days are ever the same. Interacting with the team and lovely residents and seeing them enjoy themselves makes me feel privileged to work at Chandler Court.

I’m proud to make a positive difference to people’s lives. Managing a care home comes with many challenges, but the reward of knowing you have played a part in achieving a better quality of life for people is priceless.

Outside of work, I’ve been a resident choreographer and performer for a charitable theatre group for almost 30 years. I perform in productions twice a year raising money for local charity. You might also see me attempting a challenge or two, from 26-mile hikes to 100 squats a day, to raise awareness and funding for vital charities.

Debbie Bennett
Debbie Bennett
Deputy Manager

Before joining Care UK, I worked for the Royal British Legion as a dementia manager in a home for retired veterans. I have also worked in other areas of NHS health and social care, including the military ward at Selly Oak hospital.

I chose to join Care UK because it’s focused on delivering high standards of care. The organisation’s values are meaningful and delivered in a way that supports residents and colleagues. There are also lots of opportunities to progress if you wish to.

I think it’s important to have a flexible approach in this role. We deal with so much on a day-to-day basis and things can change quickly so you need to be able to adapt. As Deputy Manager, I believe in having an open-door policy, being proactive in supporting colleagues and putting residents first.

My favourite part of the day is the time I get to spend with residents and having some fun with all the activities we plan. I’m really proud of the fact we can make a difference in people’s lives, and it is wonderful to see residents happy. Our home has a lovely feel.

I’ve had so many career highlights. Once I won an award for my work with people living with dementia. The award was presented to me by the Queen’s cousin at Alexandra Palace. Another time, I got to meet King Charles while he was still Prince of Wales.

Outside of work, I love spending my free time with my daughter, husband and pets. I also love my garden and am artistic, so I like to get involved with lots of different arts and crafts.

Rebecca Pearce
Rebecca Pearce
Customer Relations Manager

I have 20 years of experience working within care homes and in home care. After a period of working arranging home care, I realised that a care home was where I wanted to be again.

Chandler Court is a beautiful care home with an excellent and caring team – I'm very proud to introduce Chandler Court to prospective residents and their family members, as well as the local community.

As Customer Relations Manager, my most important role is building relationships and seeing the positive difference we make to people’s lives. No two days are the same, and I love the variety and unpredictability. In this role you need to be friendly, positive, compassionate and caring, as well as level-headed, adaptable and approachable.

Talking to residents and their family members and introducing them to our home makes me proud of what I do, and seeing residents enjoy life at Chandler Court makes me feel fulfilled.

I have three dogs, so walking is a big part of my family’s life outside of work. We like to discover new places as well as walk our favourite local routes. We all love camping holidays, dogs included!

Taylor Asquith
Taylor Asquith
Lifestyle Lead

I studied Marketing and Management at University and having worked in healthcare for the past two years in a pharmacy and vaccine centre, I thought this job would be great for showcasing my skills and learning new ones.

Care UK appealed to me as a great place to work because they are the most awarded care provider in the UK. The wishing tree initiative really drew me to this role, as it seemed so rewarding to be able to help make residents’ wishes come true.

As Lifestyle Lead, I play an important role within the home, helping to make a difference in residents’ daily lives with meaningful activities they can look forward to. In this role, you need to be organised, patient and have a strong willingness to help people – residents and colleagues. It’s also important to have an outgoing personality and to get stuck into the role.

Supporting residents with activities is my favourite part of each day. Seeing them smile and get involved in something fun is the reason I applied for this role!

When I’m not working, I enjoy watching and performing theatre. I’m a big theatre nerd, and a highlight for me was directing High School Musical on stage in Leicester!

Alex Millichamp
Alex Millichamp
Head Chef
5 Year Service Badge

I studied at Birmingham College of Food and did an apprenticeship at Ramada Hotels, now Hilton Hotels, where I was trained on the job. Before joining Chandler Court, I was a Head Chef at a contract caterer, but I wanted to try something different and work somewhere where I could really make a difference.

I think you need to be enthusiastic, patient and above all else enjoy what you do as a chef. Listening to and understanding the residents’ needs and making sure I'm doing everything possible to make them happy is the most important part of my role.

I love seeing the meals out on the floor. Mealtimes are a lot of the residents’ highlights of the day, and it’s good to see them happy. Knowing that I've impacted people’s lives for the better makes me proud of what I do.

A career highlight was winning Chef of the Year at the Care UK Stars Awards 2022.

When I’m not working, I enjoy listening to music and watching most sports.

Business Administrator
10 Year Service Badge

I’ve worked for Care UK since 2013. Before joining the company I was a support worker in the community. I would give emotional and practical support to people living with dementia, as well as people living with addictions and mental health challenges.

It was quite a challenge to change career path, but the company is very supportive. It was a huge highlight to be offered this role, and to be recognised for my customer relationship skills. I’m really enjoying getting to know my colleagues, the residents themselves as well as their families.

But what I enjoy most about working here is being able to make residents smile. That makes my day – it’s what delivering great care is all about.

Head Housekeeper
5 Year Service Badge

I started at Chandler Court in 2018. I started my care journey as a Care Assistant in domiciliary care and, after a few years, I wanted a new challenge but still within the care industry. When the job of Head Housekeeper became available at Care UK, I knew that this was the right, new challenge for me and I’m so glad I took the leap.

As the Head Housekeeper, I need to make sure I have a keen eye for detail to ensure that residents have a lovely clean home to live in. But, more importantly, I also need to be able to communicate to residents effectively and I like to ensure that I’m making a difference to their lives.

One of my favourite parts of my role is building the relationships with residents and making them laugh.

In my spare time I like to listen to music and spend time with my family. I also like to travel to different countries and learn about other cultures
