Meet our friendly care team

Carpathia Grange is a closely-knit team of managers, carers, nurses and support colleagues – and each of us is dedicated to your loved one’s care, health and wellbeing.

Jodie Farr

Home Manager

Jodie Farr

We have a terrific team at Carpathia Grange.

I started working here in 2020 and have progressed from Team Leader to Unit Manager, then Deputy Manager, and now Home Manager.

We all work incredibly hard, and I am really proud of what we have achieved. So far we have received gold standard framework accreditation, which shows that we consistently deliver high quality end of life care when it is needed.

We have also achieved VIPS accreditation which focuses on high quality person-centred care for residents living with dementia. Both demonstrate our commitment to residents, ensuring we make a real difference to those we support.

As Home Manager, it’s important to have good communication skills, be transparent and have a vision for high standards. As a leader, you also need to be positive and approachable; it is my role to provide help and support to colleagues as well as residents.

My favourite part of working here is ensuring all residents enjoy being at Carpathia Grange. We create happy memories and actively nurture healthy lifestyles. Seeing smiles on the lovely faces of residents makes me smile too. I feel privileged to be able to make such a positive difference to people’s lives.

Outside of work, I love a spa day to unwind and relax. I also enjoy spending time with my family.

Dulcie Hales
Dulcie Hales
Deputy Manager

I have worked in care for ten years and have level three and five NVQs. I am also taking part in Care UK’s Deputy Manager programme. I am really proud to be here and work for an organisation that has a strong reputation for high quality care and teamwork.

In my role you need to be patient and calm. You also need to be able to work under pressure. Having excellent organisational skills is essential too.

What I do is really rewarding, knowing that I can have a positive impact on those around me. Being Deputy Manager also means offering support to colleagues. I’ve worked really hard for a long time and when I look back, I feel good about what I’ve been able to achieve.

I enjoy bringing the team together in order to provide the very best care. I love seeing residents smile and laugh; it shows we are doing a good job. It is also important that relatives trust us to care for their loved ones.

Outside of work I like to stay fit and go to the gym. I also love baking celebration cakes and spending time with my family.

Ellie Peters

Customer Relations Manager

I love meeting new people and being able to help them by showcasing what we can offer at Carpathia Grange. I believe that everyone who visits us should receive a customer service experience that surpasses their expectations. It’s up to me to make sure the team works well together so that we can do this.

To do this role, you need to be a people person. You have to be patient and understanding, as well as caring and approachable. The people you meet have to trust you so it’s important to be honest and transparent.

Bing able to prioritise tasks is also essential. Finding solutions means we have to be innovative too.

I have worked in residential and dementia care homes since 2011. I wanted to join Care UK because it’s an organisation that people have a lot of very positive things to say about. I knew that this home had a great reputation for high standards of care.

I love working in care and have found my passion in this role. My experiences have helped shaped my skills and knowledge and it’s been such a highlight to be able to progress to where I am today.

At home, I live with my partner and two dogs. We enjoy days out, going on holiday and spending time with friends and family. I also love listening to live music, as well as watching anything crime related.

Lorraine Lavers
Lorraine Lavers
Lifestyle Lead

I joined Carpathia Grange in 2020 as a Healthcare Assistant. I had heard so many great things about Care UK and I wanted to be part of an organisation that values its colleagues and enable us to progress in our careers. Since then, I have been trained as a mental health first aider and am a Namaste practitioner.

What we do is so rewarding. Being able to see residents smile, laugh and have fun is what it’s all about. The best part of the day is when we see the positive impact we have on people. In particular when we’re able to fulfil their ‘wishes’ for a specific activity. It is also great when we’re able to trigger happy memories for them; you can see how much it means to people.

We work as a team and I am here to support colleagues, ensuring that we create and organise an activities programme that residents enjoy. To do that, you need to be a good communicator and have patience, positivity and confidence. Building up rapport is really important, and I liaise with residents, their relatives and friends and colleagues.

It is important to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to take part in an activity they enjoy. That means making sure you understand everyone’s individual needs so you can tailor plans to suit.

When I am not at work, I enjoy walking, especially beach walks. I also like to read.

Business Administrator

As Business Administrator at Carpathia Grange, every day is different. I manage our lovely reception team and a big part of what we do is to make sure families and visitors feel welcome.

You have to be adaptable and ready to tackle anything that crops up – from billing to recruitment – but I love the variety.

I joined Care UK because it supports career progression. I have a level three NVQ and was previously Head Housekeeper. I have learned so much already in my new role and look forward to that continuing.

I feel incredibly lucky to be part of a successful team that always has residents best interests at heart. Carpathia Grange is a real community, and I feel proud when I see the difference we can make to people’s lives – residents, families, colleagues and visitors.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and going for long walks with my dogs.

Maintenance

The most important part of my role is to make sure residents feel safe at Carpathia Grange.

I joined Care UK because I wanted a new challenge where I could make the most of my skills and experience. I would say you have to be adaptable to work in maintenance as you never know what might happen. It helps if you can work under pressure and be patient too.

I love being part of a great team, knowing that we can make a real difference to residents comfort and happiness. We are a real community here and I look forward to spending time with residents when I can – making them smile is always a highlight.

At home, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also like to play football and go fishing.

Hannah Broughton
Hannah Broughton
Head Housekeeper

Before joining Care UK, I gained 14 years of housekeeping experience working for Lord and Lady Montagu, and then seven years supervising in four and five-star hotels. More recently I decided I wanted a change in career. When I came across Carpathia Grange I fell in love.

As Head Housekeeper, you need to be calm, personable and have a sense of humour, but the most important part of my role is being organised.

I love the variety of my day here at Carpathia Grange, and I’m proud to be changing things for the better. Highlights in my role so far have included reorganising the laundry and making other improvements that my team have been happy about.

When I’m not working, I enjoy reading and doing crafts like candle making.
