Shrewsbury care home toasts milestone

A care home in Shrewsbury pulled all the stops to mark a special anniversary. 

It was party time at Care UK’s Oxbow Manor, on Oteley Road, when residents and team members came together to celebrate the home’s first birthday.

On the day, team members organised a host of games and musical activities to get everyone dancing, including a live performance from singer Kerry, who sang a host of nostalgic and popular melodies.

To top the afternoon off, there was also a tasty birthday cake for everyone to enjoy, specially prepared by the home’s chef. 

Emma Tillyer, Home Manager at Oxbow Manor, added: “We had a fantastic time celebrating our first ever birthday! 

“It’s been an incredible 12 months since our grand opening, and we’re grateful for everyone who was part of this journey with us. From joining in nationwide initiatives to combat loneliness in the community to making residents’ wishes come true, it’s safe to say we’ve been busy – but we wouldn’t change it for the world. 

“We’re excited to see what the future has in store for us; and we’re already looking forward to our next big event.”

Oxbow Manor is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the home has its very own cinema, café and hair salon, and there is plenty of space – both indoors and out – for relaxation and recreation.
