Angmering’s newest care home, set to open in 2024, has marked its latest construction milestone with the help of a special guest.
The Care UK team was joined by the Chair of Angmering Parish Council, Councillor Nikki Hamilton-Street, and Councillor Sylvia Verrinder, who placed the final roof tile on the roof of Ayton House, on Shepherds View.
The purpose-built care home – which is expected to welcome the first residents in autumn 2024 – will provide full-time residential and specialist dementia care, as well as short-term respite care, for up to 70 older people, with facilities including its own cinema, hair salon and café.
Justin Daley, Construction Project Manager at Care UK, said: “As one of the most recent additions to an expanding portfolio of residential care homes, Ayton House highlights our dedication to enhancing the provision of residential care in the region.
“As we get one step closer to opening the doors to locals, it was fantastic to welcome members of Angmering Parish Council and, once the home’s interior is complete, we can’t wait to give Councillor Nikki Hamilton-Street and Councillor Sylvia Verrinder the grand tour.”
Andy Scott, Build Director, commented: “We were delighted to commemorate this significant stage in the build process today. It was a pleasure to celebrate the occasion with Care UK.
“We are on programme to deliver this stunning care home to Care UK and the community of Angmering. Thanks to Care UK for awarding us this development - we look forward to continuing our successful partnership for many years to come.”
Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, the new Care UK home will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities. The layout of the building will be configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
