A local care home has brought life-saving equipment to the Shinfield community.
Care UK’s Parsons Grange, on Westall Street, has now installed a defibrillator that can be used if required by local people, outside of its premises.
The defibrillator was donated by The British Heart Foundation after the home was nominated to receive one by local resident Barry Davis and his colleague, two responders who regularly attend Parsons Grange’s complimentary breakfasts that the home hosts as a thank you for local blue light workers.
The defibrillator, which is registered on the National Defibrillator Network, is now available for all in the community to use and will be maintained by the team at Parsons Grange for years to come.
Rozina Ali, Home Manager at Parsons Grange, said: “We’re so thankful to Barry Davis, his work partner, and The British Heart Foundation for donating this new defibrillator to the home and the rest of the community.
“Here at Parsons Grange, we strive to promote the highest possible standards of care, which sometimes require sophisticated equipment – and we believe the community should also benefit from those standards.
“A defibrillator can save someone’s life - and we are proud to be able to have and maintain this vital piece of kit for local people.”
Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, Parsons Grange care home has been designed with residents in mind. The home has plenty of space for leisure and hobby activities as well as a café, hair salon, bar and a cinema for residents to enjoy.
