A care home in Stroud is inviting local veterans to a special lunch in honour of Remembrance Day.
On Friday 10th November, from 12pm-2pm, Care UK’s Scarlet House, on Westward Road, is inviting those who have served in the Armed Forces to a special lunch to say thank you for their service and to pay tribute to those who were lost.
On the day, guests will be welcomed into the home with a cup of tea and will have the opportunity to chat with residents, sharing their stories and memories of their younger days. The home’s talented head chef will also be preparing a lunch of homemade fish and chips.
There are spaces for ten guests available and reservations can be made by contacting Customer Relations Manager, Kateina Pippi by 12pm on Wednesday 8th November.
Justin Bedwell, Deputy Home Manager at Scarlet House, said: “We’re honored to be welcoming local veterans to join us for our Remembrance Day lunch here at Scarlet House.
“Remembrance Day is an incredibly important day, and we want to make sure members of the Armed Forces in our community feel valued. This is a wonderful way for us to show our gratitude to those who have served the country, including residents here at the home. We’re pleased to be able to provide everyone with the opportunity to share stories and connect with each other – especially for those who may not have anyone to talk to.
“We can’t wait to see everyone come together to enjoy a delicious lunch, make new friends and pay our respects to those who have served!”
