A care home in Kidderminster is inviting the community to a free event for people caring for those living with dementia.
On Wednesday 1st November, from 3pm-5pm, Care UK’s Brook Court, on Oldnall Road, will be hosting a ‘Living well with Dementia’ event for people in the community.
Aimed at those caring for a loved one living with the condition, the session will cover a host of important topics, including an overview of dementia and the importance of staying active and leading a meaningful life.
To help with the session, Brook Court is welcoming NAPA ambassador, Sylvie Silver MBE, who will help explain what it’s like to live with dementia, as well as discuss the types of support available for at-home carers and advice for engaging with a loved one living with dementia.
Following the session, there will be a chance to share experiences, as well as the opportunity to meet the friendly care team and find out more about Brook Court.
Paul Chambers, Customer Relations Manager at Brook Court, said: “Here at Brook Court, we strongly believe professional knowledge, insight and shared experiences can make a real difference to the everyday lives of those looking after someone living with dementia. This event will provide a great opportunity for carers to meet other members of the community who may also be supporting their loved ones.
“We’re looking forward to working with Sylvie and welcoming all attendees – I’m sure this session will be incredibly helpful to many, and we’d encourage those interested to book their place and avoid missing out.”
Brook Court is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care.
