A care home in Bromsgrove is inviting the community to a free event for people caring for those living with dementia.
On Wednesday 1st November, from 12pm-2pm, Care UK’s Chandler Court, on Recreation Road, will be hosting a ‘Living well with Dementia’ event for people in the community.
Aimed at those caring for a loved one living with the condition, the session will cover a host of important topics, including an overview of dementia and the importance of staying active and leading a meaningful life.
To help with the session, Chandler Court is welcoming NAPA ambassador, Sylvie Silver MBE, who will help explain what it’s like to live with dementia, as well as discuss the types of support available for at-home carers and advice for engaging with a loved one living with dementia.
Following the session, there will be a chance to share experiences, as well as the opportunity to meet the friendly care team and find out more about Chandler Court.
Tina Lilly, Home Manager at Chandler Court, said: “Here at Chandler Court, we strongly believe professional knowledge, insight and shared experiences can make a real difference to the everyday lives of those looking after someone living with dementia. This event will provide a great opportunity for carers to meet other members of the community who may also be supporting their loved ones.
“We’re looking forward to working with Sylvie and welcoming all attendees – I’m sure this session will be incredibly helpful to many, and we’d encourage those interested to book their place and avoid missing out.”
Chandler Court is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, dementia and nursing care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable its residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has its very own cinema, café and hair salon, and there is plenty of space, both indoors and out, for relaxation and recreation.
