You’ve got a friend in me – Thame care home donates to local charity

A new care home in Thame has made a generous donation to a local organisation.

Set to open its doors in autumn, Care UK’s Cuttlebrook Hall on Stock Road, has presented Thame Senior Friendship Centre with a £500 donation.

Thame Senior Friendship Centre offers a caring and sociable space for older people living in Thame and surrounding areas. Meeting regularly throughout the week, the group encourages older people to make new friends, starting the day with a coffee and a chat, before moving on to fun activities including quizzes, games and visits from local singers and guest speakers.

Kate White, Manager at Thame Senior Friendship Centre, said: “We are incredibly grateful to have received this donation from Cuttlebrook Hall.

“We rely heavily on support from the community to deliver our core services, management and day-to-day running of the Centre. Donations like this mean so much to our dedicated team of volunteers and the members who use our services, meaning we can continue to provide local people with a fun and friendly sanctuary.”

Carolann Hinson, Home Manager at Cuttlebrook Hall, added: “We’re thrilled to be supporting a local charity whose philosophy aligns so closely with our own here at Cuttlebrook Hall.

“We know how important local groups are in reducing loneliness, especially to older members of the community. Thame Senior Friendship Centre provides fantastic support for older people, presenting an opportunity for them to meet new friends, socialise with old ones and create memorable moments together.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming Kate and the rest of Thame Senior Friendship Centre to Cuttlebrook Hall when we open our doors this autumn!”

Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, Cuttlebrook Hall will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities and is set to open in September 2023.
