A care home in Stroud is opening its doors to the local community for a movie night under the stars.
On Saturday 26th August, from 6pm-9.30pm, Care UK’s Scarlet House, on Westward Road, is inviting the people of Stroud to a sing-a-long showing of 1970s classic, Grease.
Residents, relatives and guests will be able show off their best hand jives as they sing and dance the night away to the well-known soundtrack, which will be displayed on a giant screen in the home’s garden.
For the ultimate – and comfiest – outdoor experience, guests will be able to lounge on an array of beanbags, haystacks and chairs, while enjoying the sunset.
Film enthusiasts will also be treated to a traditional summer barbecue, specially prepared by the home’s talented Head Chef.
Lyndsey Dixon, Home Manager at Scarlet House, said: “We’re delighted to be opening the doors to the local community for our next big event.
“It’s so important to everyone here at Scarlet House that we build and maintain strong relationships within the community – and everyone loves Grease! Residents have been reminiscing about their favourite films and trips to the cinemas in their younger days, we’re already warming up our vocal cords and practicing the lyrics.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone for what we anticipate will be a wonderful evening, so grab your popcorn and your dancing shoes – fancy dress is optional but encouraged!”
Scarlet House is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, nursing, dementia, nursing dementia and short-term respite care. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own cinema, hair salon and café.
