Yee-haw! Community joins Shinfield care home for ultimate summer festival

A care home in Shinfield transported the local community to the wild west at a very special event.

The team at Care UK’s Parsons Grange, on Westall Street, were joined by the people of Shinfield for their Country and Western Festival. 

Guests put on their dancing shoes and do si doed to country music and visitors were also treated to hog roast, specially prepared by the home’s talented Head Chef.

The fun-filled festival formed part of Parsons Grange’s Care Home Open Week celebrations, a national initiative that encourages care homes to open their doors and showcase what life in a care home is really like. 

Rozina Ali, Home Manager at Parsons Grange, said: “We were delighted to welcome the local community to our Country and Western Festival to party the afternoon away. 

“It was a wonderful opportunity to open our doors to friends and ‘neigh’-bours in the community and show everyone exactly what life at Parsons Grange is all about. We loved getting our cowboy boots on and giving everyone a chance to showcase their best dance movesin true country style.

“Thanks to everyone who came and joined us. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back soon!”
