A new care home in Cardiff is asking the community to nominate local heroes to win a £300 cash prize.
Care UK’s Llys Herbert, on Ty-Draw Road, which is set to open its doors in July, is searching for local people or organisations who go above and beyond for their community, friends or family, and have a positive impact on the local area.
The worthy winner of the competition will receive £300 and be presented with the funds at the care home, during its grand launch event in October.
Therisa Galazka, Home Manager at Llys Herbert, added: “Everyone has an unsung hero in their life – the person who organises everything, is always there for whoever needs them and never shies away from lending a helping hand.
“Here at Llys Herbert we want to say thank you to those people who go above and beyond – whether they’re a volunteer at a local charity, a leader at a community group or simply a friend who always goes the extra mile.
“We’re inviting you to share your story, so we can say thank you with a well-deserved treat and we can’t wait to read all of your heart-warming stories!”
To nominate your local hero, visit careuk.com/care-homes/llys-herbert-cardiff/local-hero-competition before 11:59pm on Friday 28th July 2023 and explain in 100-400 words why they deserve to be rewarded.
Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, the new care home is set to open in July. The spacious home will allow for plenty of space for hobby and leisure activities, and will have its own bar, hair and beauty salon, cinema and coffee shop.
