A care home in Quorn hit the right note when they welcomed the local community to join them for a very special event.
The team at Care UK’s Lonsdale Mews, on Farley Way, were joined by local people for their ‘Summer at the Mews’ Festival.
Guests let loose to the classic hits from across the decades thanks to a special live performance from local singer, Johnny Victory, who got everyone dancing. There was also a special visit and dance performance from local group, AMC Dance School, as they pirouetted into the home for a showstopping ‘Tots to Teens’ performance.
Residents and guests’ competitive spirit was at an all-time high as they competed to see who would come out on top at Hook-a-Duck and Tin Can Alley.
With a variety of stalls to browse, guests also enjoyed treating themselves to a mocktail or two from the pop-up tiki bar and good old-fashioned sweets from a sweet cart. Visitors were also treated to a selection of homemade cakes, specially prepared by the home’s talented catering team.
The fun-filled festival formed part of Lonsdale Mews’ Care Home Open Week celebrations, a national initiative that encourages care homes to open their doors and showcase what life in a care home is really like.
Toby Sturgess, Home Manager at Lonsdale Mews, commented: “We were delighted to welcome the community to our summer festival to party the afternoon away.
“Our special event offered a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with the community and show them what life at Lonsdale Mews is all about. We loved getting our dancing shoes on and giving everyone a chance to showcase their best moves at our Summer at the Mews Festival.
“We’re already planning our next summer event so keep your eyes peeled – it’s set to be a summer to remember!”
