Let's rock! Community joins Woking care home for ultimate summer festival

Home news

A care home in Woking transported the local community back in time to rock around the clock at a very special event.

The team at Care UK’s Greenview Hall, on Streets Heath, were joined by the people of Woking for a 1950s themed Summertime Festival.

Guests put on their dancing shoes and let loose to the timeless rhythms of the era thanks to a local performer, Jane Beaumont.

Visitors were also treated to traditional fish and chips, thoughtfully prepared by the home’s talented Head Chef.

The fun-filled festival formed part of Greenview Hall’s Care Home Open Week celebrations, a national initiative that encourages care homes to open their doors and showcase what life in a care home is really like.

Meera Govindapillai, General Manager at Greenview Hall, said: “It was wonderful to be joined by the local community to our summer festival to party the afternoon away.

“We are always looking for new and exciting ways to support residents to lead fulfilling lives – and what better way to do that than to host our very own festival., We certainly pulled out all the stops and gave everyone a taste of what life is all about at Greenview Hall.

“I’d like to thank the local community and the people of Woking for attending our truly memorable event – and a huge well done to all the team for organising such a rocking 1950s festival!”
