A care home in Littlehampton transported the local community back to the seventies at a very special event.
The team at Care UK’s Darlington Court, on The Leas off Station Road, were joined by the people of Littlehampton for their flower power themed Summertime Festival.
Guests put on their dancing shoes and let loose to the timeless rhythms of the era thanks to local singer Mike Guitar – showcasing the best tunes of the 1960s and 70s.
The team entered into the spirit of the occasion by donning flower inspired outfits reminiscent of the times.
The fun-filled festival formed part of Darlington Court’s Care Home Open Week celebrations, a national initiative that encourages care homes to open their doors and showcase what life in a care home is really like.
Nikki Burke, Home Manager at Darlington Court, said: “We were delighted to welcome the local community to our summer festival to party the afternoon away.
“It was a wonderful opportunity to open our doors to friends and neighbours in the community and show everyone exactly what life at Darlington Court is all about. We loved getting our dancing shoes on and giving everyone a chance to showcase their best dance moves in true 1970s fashion.
“We’re already planning our next summer event so keep your eyes peeled – it’s set to be a summer to remember!”
