Edinburgh care home invites community to enjoy all the fun of the fair

A care home in Edinburgh is inviting the local community for a day of family-friendly summer fun, with a host of exciting activities.

On Friday 28th July, from 2pm-4pm, the team at Care UK’s Murrayside, on South Beechwood, is opening the doors to welcome the people of Edinburgh to their summer fair.

Guests are invited to dance along to live entertainment from local singer, David Hood, who will be performing classic hits from across the decades – sure to get the party started.

There will also be a host of traditional garden games, including hook a duck and a coconut shy, as well as a raffle, where visitors can try their luck to win a host of prizes.

Those visiting will also have the opportunity to take a tour around Murrayside and see exactly what life is like at the home.

Suzanne Welsh, Home Manager at Murrayside, said: “Maintaining strong relationships with the community is an important part of life here at Murrayside, and hosting our summer fair provides us with a wonderful opportunity to welcome the people of Edinburgh into our home.

“We are delighted to be able to be able to open our doors to the local community and celebrate summer together in style. Everyone is very excited to have friends, family and neighbours joining us for a day of fun, with lots of friendly competition too!

“We’re really looking forward to welcoming local people for an afternoon of family fun – you won’t want to miss this.”

Murrayside care home has been specially designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities, and has its own cinema, hair salon and café.
