All time high! Community joins Sale care home for ultimate summer festival

A care home in Sale hit the right note when it welcomed the local community to a very special event.

The team at Care UK’s Oakfield Croft, on Oakfield, was joined by the people of Sale for their summer Oaklife Festival.

Guests put on their dancing shoes and let loose to the classic hits from across the decades thanks to special live performances from local singers and performers throughout the day.

Opening the festival in style was Magic Mike, performing timeless classics to impress the crowd. Next up, the crowd took in the sweet sounds of duo Emily and Gabbi, followed by Katie Geelan with a violin performance and Nevil Lee who volunteered to serenade everyone with sounds from the saxophone.

Finally, headliner, Bob Young, took centre stage and closed the Oaklife festival on a high.

Donning flower crowns, guests also got into the summer spirit with a sweet treat from the ice cream van. There were also a variety of stalls, including those selling handmade jewellery and a cake stall for guests to browse.

The fun-filled festival formed part of Oakfield Croft’s Care Home Open Week celebrations, a national initiative that encourages care homes to open their doors and showcase what life in a care home is really like.

Jean Taylor, a resident at Oakfield Croft, said: “I had a lovely time and I thought everyone was party happy!”

Daniel Cole, Home Manager at Oakfield Croft, added: “We were delighted to welcome the community to our summer festival to party the afternoon away. We were thrilled with the turn out, no doubt thanks to our fantastic line up – none of which disappointed!

“Our special event offered a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with the community and show them what life at Oakfield Croft is all about. We loved getting our dancing shoes on and giving everyone a chance to showcase their best moves at our Oaklife Festival.

“We’re already planning our next summer event so keep your eyes peeled – it’s set to be a summer to remember!”
