Yoga-to try it! Cringleford care home invites local community to a festival to remember

A new festival is coming to Cringleford – and you won’t believe where it’s taking place.

On Friday 30th June, from 11.30am-3.30pm, Care UK’s Cavell Court, on Dragonfly Lane, is set to open its doors to local people for its brand-new Summer Wellbeing Festival.

The fun-filled, wellbeing-themed festival comes as Cavell Court celebrates Care Home Open Week, a national initiative that encourages care homes to open their doors and showcase what life in a care home is really like.

The Summer Wellbeing Festival will see guests swaying along to calming piped music – sure to get everyone feeling ultra zen.

There will also be an opportunity for guests to try their hand at seated yoga as they take on the challenge of carefully navigating their breathing exercises, as well as Indian head massages and reflexology taster sessions available for all to enjoy. Guests will also get to experience a relaxing Namaste and aromatherapy session, promoting a sense of calm and relaxation.

Namaste care is designed specially to support people living with advanced dementia and seeks to engage people via their senses and emotions, and especially through the power of touch.

They’ll be nutritious smoothies and herbal teas available, along with vegetable-based cakes and sweet treats, specially prepared by the home’s talented Head Chef.

Karen Curle, Home Manager at Cavell Court, commented: “We’re excited to be opening our doors to the local community to celebrate Care Home Open Week with our Summer Wellbeing Festival.

“Nutritious meals, and activities to encourage wellbeing and gentle movement are an important part of life here at Cavell Court, and for older people and those living with dementia, this can encourage residents to enjoy the simple pleasures in life.

“We’re excited to be welcoming the Cringleford community as we open our doors and ask everyone to join us in putting their yoga mats down as we get the opportunity to relax and embrace our inner calm for the day!”
