Care UK homes shortlisted in two categories at the Hotel Housekeeping Honours Awards.

Care UK homes have been shortlisted in two categories at the prestigious Hotel Housekeeping Honours (HHH) Awards.

The HHH Awards are held annually and recognise companies, individuals, services, and products that stand out from the rest. The awards are intended for those who showcase exceptional industry professionalism and customer service and demonstrate innovations and initiatives that make every experience special.

Ambleside’s Lorraine Gibbins has been shortlisted in the ‘Cleaning Technician of the Year’ category. This award is for individuals who show true commitment and promise to their role, and Lorraine is the perfect candidate. She is a passionate Cleaning Technician, with a natural sense of enthusiasm and energy. Her dedication stems from her belief that her role is about more than cleaning rooms; it’s about improving the lives of the residents in those rooms. Lorraine described the move to the housekeeping team as “The best thing I’ve ever done.” 

The housekeeping team at Bourley Grange have been shortlisted in the ‘Housekeeping Team’ category. This close-knit group is made up of hardworking individuals, who work together to provide the highest standard of service and cleanliness are always maintained throughout the home. 

The team is made up of Hospitality Manager, Darwin Serrano, Bholi, who is the backbone of the group, with a good sense of humour and a hardworking attitude; Durga, who oversees a seamless laundry service, and Sangita and Kumari who assist in the smooth running of the team’s operations.

Working together, the team keeps the care home spotless and safe, and visitors often comment that the nine-year-old home looks brand new. But what makes this team special is the way they go above and beyond their cleaning duties to keep residents and their families at the heart of their work.

The winners will be announced during a gala dinner and awards ceremony on July 7th 2023, at Crowne Plaza, in Stratford upon Avon.
