Southampton care home provides helping hand for local church

A care home in Southampton has donated over £300 to a local church.

The team at Care UK’s Ancasta Grove, on Barnes Lane, heard about St Pauls Church projector being broken and knew they had to help.

St Pauls Church offers support, encouragement and care for local people, especially when they face difficult and challenging times in their life. The church team provides weekly services for residents at Ancasta Grove as well as pastoral care at the home every Monday. They also spend time with residents at key points throughout the year, including Christmas and on Remembrance Day.

Speaking with the church team, they decided to replace the projector with two televisions, and the team at Ancasta Grove were happy to step in, donating £300 towards the good cause.

The team invited representatives from the church to the home to receive the cheque, where they also got to meet with families and residents.

Joel Ignacio, Home Manager at Ancasta Grove, said: “We are thrilled to have donated funds to a very deserving local organisation that we have a wonderful friendship with already.

“Here at Ancasta Grove, we’re keen to create strong links with our local community and provide support where we can. We are honoured to help the local church who we know will benefit a huge amount from the funds we donated.

“We are really thankful to St Pauls Church for all they do for us, and the wider community, and we’re so pleased we could help them in their time of need.”

Ancasta Grove has been designed to deliver the very best standards of care and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. The home provides residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, as well as respite and end of life care, and is proud to be able to offer a ‘home for life’ if an individual’s needs change over time.
