Sale care home named in top 20 for second time

A care home in Sale has been named one of the best in the county by the UK’s leading care home review website for the second time in a row. 

The website, carehome.co.uk, annually announces the winners of the Care Home Awards, which recognises the top-rated homes in each region, and Oakfield Croft has been listed as one of the best from over 1,700 care homes in the North West.

The Care UK home, located on Oakfield, is known for its commitment to enabling residents to lead active and fulfilling lives. One of the celebrated aspects of Oakfield Croft is that it provides daily group and one-to-one activities which are led by the lifestyle team.  

The list of the most recommended care homes across the UK is compiled based on both the individual home and care group review score, which is calculated using reviews provided by service users and relatives. 

With a score of 10, the highest possible rating, 100 per cent of reviewers for Oakfield Croft rated the care home as ‘excellent’. 

One review said: “Our mum loved living at Oakfield Croft and always referred to it as home! The heart of a care home is its [staff], and the manager has a knack for picking the very best; Mum loved all the staff and spoke of them fondly all the time - nothing was too much for them, and they always went above and beyond!…Thank you so much to the manager and his lovely team.”

Another review said: “The huge bond Mum has with the [staff] is amazing…I want to say a huge thank you to the lovely staff who have been so kind. You are all like family now and the home is a huge credit to you all.”

Another review said: “Oakfield is a bright, welcoming and cheery home that seems to 'smile' whatever is going on.”

The layout of the building is configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities, as well as facilities like a cinema, coffee shop and hair salon.
