Quorn care home named in top 20 for third year

A care home in Quorn has been named one of the best in the county by the UK’s leading care home review website for the third year in a row. 

The website, carehome.co.uk, annually announces the winners of the Care Home Awards, which recognises the top-rated homes in each region, and Lonsdale Mews has been listed as one of the best from over 1,418 care homes in the East Midlands.

The Care UK home, located on Farley Way, is known for its commitment to enabling residents to lead active and fulfilling lives. One of the celebrated aspects of Lonsdale Mews is that it provides daily group and one-to-one activities which are led by the lifestyle team.  

The list of the most recommended care homes across the UK is compiled based on both the individual home and care group review score, which is calculated using reviews provided by service users and relatives. 

With a score of 10, the highest possible rating, 100 per cent of reviewers for Lonsdale Mews rated the care home as ‘excellent’. 

One review said: “My mum has been living here for a month and absolutely loves it. It's lovely to see a smile on her face every day. The staff are caring and very friendly and attentive.”

Another review said: “Our mum has been a resident in Lonsdale Mews for over four months now and the transformation in her whole demeanour has been remarkable…this is down to the great team at Lonsdale and the dedication they show to all the residents in their care….Communication is excellent between the staff and our family and nothing ever appears to be too much trouble.”

Lonsdale Mews offers full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite. The home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own cinema, hairdressing salon and café. The layout of the building is configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
