All welcome inside Basingstoke’s multi-million-pound care home

A care home in Basingstoke is inviting the community to have a look around its purpose-built home. 

Dashwood Manor, on Bradley Way, is opening its doors from Friday 21^st April to Saturday 22^nd April to give local people the opportunity to find out what life is like inside this care home with a difference.

Designed to ensure residents lead fulfilling lives, the home features a café, cinema and hair salon, and hosts activities and day trips you might not expect – from virtual discos and monthly dog cafes, to sky diving adventures.

Members of the local community can now book a place at the open day to meet the team and take a tour around the care home, which provides full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 70 residents. 

During the day, the catering team at Dashwood Manor will be providing an afternoon tea including cakes and freshly baked scones.  

Dil Perera, Home Manager at Dashwood Manor, said: “We can’t wait to show the community the fantastic home we have created here in Basingstoke. The open days allow people to find out what makes our care home so special, as well as get a glimpse of what life is like here at Dashwood Manor on a day-to-day basis. Visitors will also be able to find out more about the types of activities that will be available, as well as our cuisine and other amenities. Ultimately, it’s a great opportunity for people to get a real feel of the place.

Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, the new care home, which opened in September 2021, incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities. Luxury facilities includes a café, hair and beauty salon, cinema and bar, and stunning gardens.
