A little party never hurt nobody – Woking care home celebrates fifth birthday

A care home in Woking has celebrated its fifth anniversary in style.  

Residents at Care UK’s Greenview Hall, on Streets Heath, pulled out all the stops for a special 1920s themed birthday bash, five years after it welcomed it’s very first residents. 

 

Residents, relatives and friends of the home enjoyed dancing and singing along to live music, while sipping a glass of prosecco to mark the occasion.  

During the celebration, resident 84-year-old Molly Parker, said: “I have lived at the home for nearly 5 years and my favourite thing about living here is that the team are all so friendly and there whenever I need them. The 5-year anniversary was wonderful, such a lovely celebration. Well done too everyone who took part in organising it, now you deserve a good rest!” 

Meera Govindapillai, General Manager at Greenview Hall, said: “It was wonderful to see residents outside singing and dancing to toast our special milestone.

 “The whole team worked hard to organise the event, and I am delighted to say that their efforts were rewarded – our birthday party will definitely be one to remember for years to come. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who makes Greenview Hall an amazing place to call home, and for helping to make the day extra special.

We’ve welcomed some real characters to the home, built relationships with brilliant local organisations, and worked hard to create a homely environment for everyone who spends time with us here at Greenview Hall. Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, Greenview Hall, incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities. The home provides full-time residential care, nursing care, dementia care and respite care. The layout of the building is configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
