Local care home searches for Orpington’s local heroes

A care home in Orpington is asking the community to nominate ‘local heroes’ for the chance to win a £500 cash prize.

Care UK’s Foxbridge House, on Sevenoaks Road, is searching for local people or organisations who go above and beyond for their community, friends or family, and have a positive impact on the local area. 

The worthy winner of the competition will receive £500 and be presented with the funds at the care home, once fully refurbished, during an open day event in late spring. There will also be cash prizes of £200 and £100, to be awarded for second and third place respectively.

Stella Barnes, Home Manager at Foxbridge House, said: “We all know that one person who organises everything, is always there for others and never shies away from offering a helping hand – so here at Foxbridge House we want to say thank you. 

“Whether they’re a volunteer at a local charity, a community group which really makes a difference to the area, or simply someone who goes that extra mile for others – share your story with us so we can reward them with the treat they deserve at our spring open day event to celebrate a newly refurbished Foxbidge House.

Foxbridge House is currently undergoing a refurbishment which is set to complete in late Spring 2023. The building has been designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The home remains open throughout the refurbishment and provides full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, and will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities and will include its own cinema, hairdressing salon and café.
