‘Tis the season to be fancy – Stowmarket residents enjoy a festive night out

A care home in Stowmarket hosted a festive ladies’ night, complete with a trip to the theatre and a limo to take them there. 

It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Care UK’s Cedrus House, on Bittern Crescent, likes to go the extra mile for residents – especially when it comes to granting their wishes. 

Peggy Rozier, a resident at Cedrus House, had always wanted to ride in a limousine. Upon hearing her wish, the care home team got busy making it happen – and started planning a special evening for her and her friends. 

After a special pamper session in the home’s hair and beauty salon, Peggy and six other residents were picked up by their very own chauffeur and limousine, fully stocked with refreshments. Together, they went to watch a Peter Pan panto at Ispwich Regent Theatre.

Peggy said: “I never thought I would be getting into a limousine at age 96! I remember going to pantomime as a child and getting excited – and shouting at the stage too. It brought back lovely memories. I felt like royalty.”

Michelle Webster, Home Manager at Cedrus House, said: “Christmas is a magical time of the year – and it often provides us with the perfect opportunity to grant a few festive wishes. 

“Peggy had always wanted to ride in a limousine, and thought she’d missed her chance to do – so we proved her wrong. The team organised an amazing ladies night, making Peggy and her friends feel like royalty for an evening. 

“Everyone had a wonderful time, especially Peggy, and we’re already looking forward to our next ladies’ night – though it’ll be difficult to top that one!”
