Residents at a Horndean care home received a special festive visit from local children.
Residents at Care UK’s Pear Tree Court, on Portsmouth Road, enjoyed a special visit from Horndean Beaver Scout Group who sang Christmas carols to the residents.
The festive sing-along included ’We wish you a merry Christmas’, ‘Rudolf the red nosed reindeer’ and ’Away in a Manger’.
Residents enjoyed spending time with the youngsters and sharing memories of Christmas time when they were younger. Everyone is now keen to continue to build on the blossoming friendship with the local children, and work together on more initiatives in the new year.
John Mataruse, Customer Relations Manager at Pear Tree Court, said: “We’re feeling really festive here at Pear Tree Court and receiving a visit from the Beavers was a wonderful surprise for residents.
“Intergenerational relationships have proven to be enriching for both young and older people, as they provide an opportunity for the different generations to learn from each other.
“This is no doubt that there is a beautiful friendship between our home and children from Horndean Beavers – we’re looking forward to spending time together again in the new year.”
