A care home in Cheadle is inviting local people who might otherwise be alone for the holidays to spend the day with residents and team members.
Care UK’s Abney Court, in Abney Hall Park, is welcoming those in the community who would like to spend Christmas day with their neighbours and enjoy a traditional roast dinner, and festive games and entertainment.
The activities and lunch, complete with all the trimmings, will take place on Christmas Day, between 1pm-3pm, and local people can book their place by calling 0161 660 5713.
Amcia Hara, Home Manager at Abney Court, said: “We understand that the festive season can sometimes be a difficult time for older people living alone – which is why we wanted to extend a warm welcome to those in the local community who might otherwise find themselves alone this Christmas.
“Supporting the community is important to the team and residents here at Abney Court, and we’re keen to provide a welcoming environment for those looking to spend time with neighbours and enjoy some festive treats this Christmas.
“Preparations are already under way for the big day, and we are looking forward to welcoming local people to enjoy the festivities with us!”
